Cy-Hope is a nonprofit organization in the Cy-Fair area that provides programs to support underserved children and families. Founded in 2011, Cy-Hope’s mission is to make life better for kids through initiatives such as the Backpack Program for weekend food assistance, Hope Centers for tutoring and life skills, the Larry Dierker Baseball Academy, counseling services, and scholarships. Cy-Hope has grown significantly since its founding, expanding its staff and the number of community-based programs it offers. Position Overview

The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive officer of the organization, responsible for advancing the mission to empower underserved children by meeting essential needs, nurturing growth, and creating opportunities that help them thrive and positively impact their communities. The ED provides strategic leadership, ensures financial sustainability, strengthens partnerships, and fosters a collaborative, trust-based culture. This role balances vision with action, aligning staff, board, and community stakeholders to achieve measurable outcomes for children and families. Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

Provide visionary, community-centered leadership aligned with the mission and strategic goals. Translate board priorities into actionable strategies, with a focus on measurable outcomes for kids (academic, social-emotional, and community impact). Foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and empowerment, ensuring staff feel valued and supported. Balance innovation with operational discipline, ensuring programs are impactful and sustainable. Board Relations

Partner closely with the Board of Directors to set strategic direction, ensure accountability, and strengthen governance. Provide clear, transparent communication on organizational performance, risks, and opportunities. Engage the board in fundraising and donor development, leveraging their networks and expertise. Operations & Management

Oversee day-to-day operations with a focus on efficiency, clarity, and accountability. Build and support a leadership team structure that includes Development, Operations, and Data/Impact roles. Ensure systems are in place for tracking outcomes, measuring effectiveness, and reporting impact. Promote flexibility and respect for staff passions, while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. Financial Management

Develop and manage the annual budget in partnership with the Board and finance team. Ensure financial sustainability through diversified revenue streams (grants, endowments, sponsorships, earned income, and individual giving). Align resources strategically, pruning underperforming programs and investing in high-impact initiatives. Fundraising & Development

Lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes donor cultivation, corporate partnerships, and community engagement. Strengthen donor relationships and expand the base of support, ensuring long-term sustainability. Serve as a visible ambassador to the community, enhancing the organization’s reputation and reach. Advocacy & Community Engagement

Build and deepen partnerships with schools, community groups, corporations, and regional organizations. Advocate for policies and initiatives that advance equity, opportunity, and well-being for children. Represent the organization with authenticity and credibility to media, donors, and the broader public. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, or related field (Master’s preferred). 7–10 years of senior leadership experience, ideally in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations. Proven track record in fundraising, financial management, and strategic planning. Strong leadership, communication, and trust-building skills with staff, board, and community.
