EMC/EMI Engineer - Antenna, Hardware Development

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon seeks an Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (EMI and EMC) Engineer to join the Antenna Team. As a Kuiper EMC/EMI engineer, you will develop requirements, review designs, and build test capability for complex payload subsystems for low-earth-orbit satellites. The key responsibilities of the role are: Define requirements for testing and qualifying subsystems Perform analysis of radiated emissions and susceptibility (RE/RS) Develop models for interference and shielding issues to mitigate and control emissions and susceptibility Work with electronic component design teams to communicate requirements related to electromagnetic environments such as shielding, grounding, bonding, and isolation Work with subsystem design owners on EMI-related challenges Define and coordinate EMI and EMC testing for a satellite and its subsystems Coordinate requirements and validation with Launch Providers’ EMI and EMC teams Develop and maintain EMI/EMC test labs and equipment and support execution of EMI/EMC testing for a satellite and its subsystems Identify emission and susceptibility non-conformance, debug all failures to root-cause, and provide manufacturable solutions Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
