POSITION PURPOSE: The Director of Promotion Management is a strategic leader responsible for designing, executing, and optimizing the company’s trade and consumer promotional strategies across channels and retail partners. This role will oversee a team dedicated to delivering best-in-class promotion planning, execution, analytics, and ROI measurement — ensuring that every promotion drives profitable growth, strengthens KeHE’s value within the marketplace, and maximizes retailer collaboration. This individual will partner closely with Sales, Category Management, Marketing, and Supplier Partners to ensure promotional investments align with business objectives and deliver measurable value. DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Leadership & Planning Develop and execute promotional strategy for the business, aligning strategy with sales, merchandising, and revenue growth goals. Define annual promotional objectives, KPIs, and investment strategies across key accounts and channels. Translate consumer insights, category trends, and retailer dynamics into impactful promotion plans that drive volume, share, and profitability. Promotion Execution & Management Oversee the planning, execution, and post-analysis of promotions across the customer and supplier base. Lead a team responsible for building promotional plans, managing offer mechanics, and coordinating execution with field and account teams. Ensure compliance with promotional guidelines, pricing strategy, and margin requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Sales and Category Management teams to co-develop customer, channel, and region-specific promotional strategies that enhance joint business plans. Collaborate with Marketing to integrate advertising & promotions with trade initiatives. Work closely with Category Management and Merchandising Analytics to forecast promotional performance and optimize ROI. Analytics, Insights & Continuous Improvement Collaborate with Merchandising Analytics to build and oversee a robust promotion performance measurement framework, leveraging advanced analytics and post-event evaluation. Identify promotional effectiveness trends, best practices, and growth opportunities — and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Champion data-driven decision-making and ensure promotional investment is continuously optimized. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing promotions team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Set clear goals and KPIs for the team and ensure alignment with company-wide objectives. Other duties and projects as assigned Success Metrics Development and retention of high-performing promotion management talent. Improvement in promotional ROI and profitability. Increased volume and market share from trade and consumer promotions. Enhanced retailer satisfaction and partnership effectiveness. Successful implementation of promotional planning and analytics tools/processes. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Strong strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term vision and short-term execution. Deep understanding of CPG trade promotion dynamics, pricing levers, and retailer strategies. Proficiency with analytics platforms and syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, IRI). Exceptional leadership, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Financial acumen with experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets and measuring ROI. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in a business/marketing discipline required; MBA preferred. 10+ years of experience in Trade Marketing, Promotion Management, Category Management, or Commercial Strategy within CPG. Proven track record of leading promotional strategy and execution that drives measurable growth.
