This role focuses on the planning, design, and construction of facilities such as landfills, recycling centers, and transfer stations, as well as related civil engineering works. We're seeking a highly motivated civil engineer with experience in solid waste and a passion for collaborative problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Manage solid waste infrastructure projects from concept through construction, ensuring technical quality, regulatory compliance, and on-time delivery.
- Site Design & Engineering: Develop comprehensive civil site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering reports, cost estimates, technical specifications, and bid packages tailored to project and client requirements.
- Client & Agency Coordination: Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams to secure approvals and ensure project success.
- Construction Oversight: Provide construction-phase support including field inspections, submittal reviews, and verification of construction activities against design specifications.
- Project Management: Oversee budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client expectations to meet project goals and financial targets.
- Team Development: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused work environment.
- Business Development: Assist in proposal writing, client presentations, and relationship development with current and prospective clients.
- Technical Excellence: Apply engineering best practices in design and documentation while exercising sound judgment and proactive leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering; experience in solid waste management strongly preferred
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Idaho or Washington, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant design software
- Demonstrated success managing projects, budgets, and teams
- Experience working with municipalities and public agencies on environmental compliance and infrastructure development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing and client presentations
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
