Finance Manager, Amazon Grocery – Amazon

The Amazon Grocery Supply Chain Finance team seeks a Finance Manager to partner with our business partners on operational performance, financial analysis, long term strategy and execution. Experience in this team opens up several career opportunities across Amazon. The successful candidate will have passion for data and analytics, be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, and an ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also critical in this role.

Key job responsibilities

  • Identifies basic control risks, evaluates impact, proposes changes, and implements improvements to remediate gaps.
  • Delivers weekly/monthly financial close. Outputs plans, forecasts, budgets, and consolidations.
  • Works with a variety of data sources. Identifies incomplete or inaccurate data, identifies root causes of data issues, escalates discrepancies, fixes data where possible or partners to deliver a solution.
  • Communicates data clearly in writing and verbally, adjusting style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues.
  • Identifies and implements solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes.
  • Prioritizes work, meets deadlines, seeks feedback, and distinguishes between urgent and non-urgent issues to act accordingly.

About the team

The Grocery Supply Chain team owns the operational capabilities required to support Amazon’s growing Grocery businesses. Our Finance teams partner with operations to influence strategic direction, drive operations excellence, and make sound investment and expansion decisions, with the goal of improving customer experience and long-term profitability. We value data-driven decision-making and a culture of experimentation and rapid learning.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying root causes, and creating/implementing escalation plans
  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have proven impact
  • MBA or CPA
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  • Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
