Responsibilities (Job Accountabilities)

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (including drug screens, biometric screenings, and insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions as trained.
• Research test/client information and confirm/verify orders using lab technology systems and approved tools; communicate with clients as needed.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information; collect payments when required following policy.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, phones, and emails as appropriate.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with compilation/submission of statistics and data as required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (e.g., maintenance and temperature logs) timely.
• Complete online and in-person training timely.

Qualifications

• Required Work Experience: Three years phlebotomy experience (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections); keyboard/data entry experience; flexible and available to work weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime; reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and clean driving record if applicable.
• Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

The position requires the ability to communicate effectively in English.
