If so, we are looking for you to join our team as an Administrative Assistant in the Time Square area at our 1,689-unit affordable housing community Manhattan Plaza in New York, NY.

About Manhattan Plaza: Located just west of Times Square, Manhattan Plaza houses 1,689 units. Approximately 70% of residents are performing artists. The property includes 14 commercial tenants and three on-site businesses, creating a dynamic environment where life and art converge. For more information regarding the property, click here. Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and professional responses to phone calls and emails.
  • Collect, distribute, and process resident and applicant paperwork, including applications, interviews, and background/credit checks, to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
  • Review, track, and maintain financial and tax-related records in Microsoft Excel; manage lease documentation and ensure secure handling and disposal of confidential materials.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of copier supplies and ensure copier machines are properly serviced and functional.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments for recertifications, applications, and other resident-facing processes to optimize workflow and support staff and residents.
  • Provide professional administrative support to staff and management by managing tasks independently and responding promptly to inquiries to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Support operations with additional administrative duties as assigned, which may include managing a limited recertification caseload.

Compensation

  • $27.88 - $29.81 / hour
  • Annual Performance Bonus

This range is provided as a general guideline and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at posting. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, location, and responsibilities. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Final compensation offers will be determined after a thorough assessment of the candidate’s background and the position requirements.

Qualifications

  • Available for 8AM-5PM shift, Monday through Friday.
  • Prior experience in the property management/affordable housing industry (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word (required).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex operational tasks with minimal supervision in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Notary credentials and bilingual abilities are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
