Position: Receptionist
Location: District Wide – As Assigned
Reports To: Site Principal or Designee

Job Goal: To assist the Principal in maintaining a positive environment for all staff, students, and parents through effective customer services.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with various Office software such as Word and Excel
  • Ability to learn software applications quickly and efficiently
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Ability to work with staff, teachers, students, and parents at various educational levels
  • Proficient communicator with excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of district staff and with a diverse community
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere
  • Ability to use constructive techniques to resolve issues
  • Ability to work independently

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general clerical duties as requested.
  • Exhibits patience, courtesy, and tact when dealing with others.
  • Answers telephone to provide information, take messages, or transfer calls.
  • Responsible for assisting with attendance records, withdrawal information, personal student information, and other mandated data for all student populations both electronically and manually.
  • Assemble data information for Site Principal as needed.
  • Greets visitors to school, determines nature of business, and directs visitors to destination.

Terms of Employment:

  • 12-month contract, Hourly/Non-Exempt position under FLSA. Placement on Classified salary schedule dependent upon education and experience
  • Benefits – All approved benefits for Classified Employees
  • Must pass Department of Public Safety Fingerprint clearance check.
  • Must be United States citizen or have valid work visa at date of hire with the ability to maintain. All changes in visa status must be reported to Human Resources immediately. Photo identification and work visa, (if necessary), will be needed for fingerprint clearance card and I-9 documentation prior to first day of work.

Evaluation:

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.

Required Documentation:

  • Proof of Mumps, Measles, and Rubella, (MMR) vaccination.
  • Valid government-issued identification or current work visa with expiration date.
  • Unofficial copies of transcripts will be accepted with applications, official transcripts will be due upon job offer.
