This is a receptionist position focused on client communication, appointment scheduling, and administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and place calls to clients for the purpose of scheduling.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
  • Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, such as referral documentation and previous medical history.
  • Assist clients with instructions, information, invoices, dispense prescription items per veterinarian’s instructions, and schedule future appointments.
  • Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates.
  • Manage the financial needs of the hospital by maintaining accurate balances, handling client transactions, and following cash/credit procedures and opening/closing procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and professional communication.
  • Educate clients on preventative care, pet health needs, treatments, and available hospital services.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in interactions with clients, pets and teammates; show empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.
  • Utilize standard office/business equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
  • Flexible schedule including some weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Experience with veterinary software is preferred; ability to work independently and take direction as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and good verbal/written communication, judgment, and ability to manage stressful situations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a veterinary or medical receptionist role preferred; knowledge of veterinary terminology is a plus.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team; strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with veterinary software or hospital information systems preferred.

  • Pay range of $15-$16/hour based on experience
