Overview

HR Staff role at Chula Vista Resort. Oversees recruitment of new staff, processes onboarding information for new hires, presents company orientations, and assists with employee housing. Manages benefit administration and employee information during employment. Assists with cultural events for international staff. Processes termination information as needed. Completes employment verifications and prepares reports for employment records.

Responsibilities

• Full-time first shift hourly position.
• Conduct new employee orientation and communicate changes to the employee handbook.
• Audit employee files for accuracy and assist with audits.
• Answer questions, provide training, assist staff, and monitor performance.
• Conduct and monitor training of management for consistency in interviewing, orienting, managing, and reviewing staff in compliance with employment laws and policies.
• Lead all aspects of recruitment for new staff externally and internally.
• Assist with administration of the international student and housing program.
• Contribute to continual development of the HR department.
• Safeguard and protect company assets and confidential information; exercise good judgment in problem solving and timely decision making.

Qualifications

• Educational Requirements: Required - High School Diploma; Preferred - same.
• Experience: Required - negotiable; Preferred - same.
• Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of recruitment, orientation, and benefits administration; ability to work with others; creative thinking; ability to clearly define objectives; training method knowledge and implementation.
• Physical Requirements: Sitting/standing for long periods; walking, turning head and torso, bending arms, wrists and fingers; full use of sight, hearing, and speech.
• Mental Requirements: Proficient in arithmetic; computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
