LOCATIONS: KNOXVILLE, TN

PAY RATE: $180.72/DAY

The Delivery Merchandiser Trainee is a fast-paced position responsible for learning and becoming efficient in the daily duties of route delivery and merchandising in all disciplines, including stocking and facing products on shelves and displays, in coolers and cooling vaults. This role involves supporting route delivery staff, providing route relief when needed, and preparing to take a permanent route assignment in any delivery discipline.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Learn to drive a Class A CDL vehicle and obtain required licensing within 10 weeks of training start date. Under supervision, learn processes and gain the skills necessary to service customers using all equipment in the delivery process (invoicing via handheld device; start/end of shift check-in, out accounting procedures for cash and paperwork). Properly secure company assets and inventory and safely handle products during delivery at customer locations.
  • Develop merchandising habits and techniques to ensure customer and consumer satisfaction while meeting Company merchandising standards and understanding how to execute commercial plans in customers’ outlets.
  • Develop good rotation practices and understand point-of-sale needs such as racks and shippers; learn to build and maintain product displays, product facing, and brand order along with proper backroom management of products.
  • Develop customer service skills by working with customers to understand their needs and communicate back to the appropriate manager any customer service issues.
  • Maintain appropriate behavior while executing job functions, promote personal safety, and follow equipment safety guidelines. Learn and adhere to company safety standards and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules regarding DOT and Hours of Service.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license for residency with an excellent driving history (Seven-year MVR reviewed)
  • Ability to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (Class A CDL); not required for hire
  • Ability to pass and maintain DOT physical requirements
