Overview

Production / Technical Assistant, Karl Lagerfeld Sportswear. Base pay range: $50,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr. Location: On-Site, New York City, Midtown Manhattan - Fashion District. Reporting to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

• Sample Management: Open incoming sample boxes, unpack and organize samples, and create style lists for tracking
• Tech Pack Alignment: Print and review tech packs for each style, checking samples against materials, trims and details
• Measurement and Specifications: Measure samples and accurately record measurements in the tech pack spec sheet
• Fit Preparation: Steam, hang or fold samples neatly, ensuring each sample is paired with its tech pack before fittings
• Fitting Support: Attend fittings, note fit comments directly in the tech pack, and photograph garments on fit models for reference
• Vendor Communications: Send fit comments and measurement updates to vendors and respond promptly to vendor questions and clarifications
• Timeline Tracking: Monitor delivery dates and sample schedules to ensure timely fittings and approvals
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Production Manager and Technical Designers to maintain smooth workflow across teams

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Production, Merchandising or related field
• 0-2 years of experience in apparel production / technical design
• Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics and trims is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; exposure to PLM systems and Adobe Illustrator preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple deadlines
• Detail and task-oriented
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

The pay range for this position is: $24.03 per hour / $50,000 per year (Annualized salary based on a 40 hour work week) - $28.84 per hour / $60,000 per year (Annualized salary based on a 40 hour work week)
