Overview
Primary Purpose: Supervise the campus custodial operations by assisting the supervisor to establish and follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building operations. Coordinate activities and school functions with principal/asst. principal requests regarding custodial duties. During project periods (cleaning of walls, lights, windows, floors, etc.) act as the leader for the custodians assigned to the school or building.
Qualifications
Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand and give verbal and written instructions in English.
Skills / Special Knowledge
- Demonstrate leadership ability in working in a custodial department.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Must be able to rotate school/campus when needed.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work well with diverse employee groups.
- Ability to demonstrate organizational skills.
- Ability to read and understand/teach instructions for cleaning and safety procedures.
- Strong knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions associated with the work.
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques on custodial equipment.
- Ability to teach/operate cleaning equipment.
- Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies and maintain custodial inventory.
Experience
Three years experience in the custodian service industry.
Salary: PG4 / 240 days. Starting at $15.50 per hour.
