Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring optimal operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on industrial machinery, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. The Maintenance Technician coaches other techs to achieve the same.
Key Responsibilities:
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Ensures the removal of defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Works with other Technicians to determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges and trains other technicians to do the same.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Ensures the Technical Team maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

Qualifications:
- Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 5 years prior experience in mechanical and/or electrical position.
- Be able to read and understand blueprints and CAD.
- Have working experience with 480V/3 phase industrial equipment and controls.
- Have working knowledge of PLC and computerized controlled automated systems, equipment and functions.
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Have working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Strong coaching and training skills a must.
- Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to ask the right questions.
- Strong verbal and written communication competencies.
