Federal Express Corporation is hiring: Courier/DOT-2 in Fort Smith

Overview

Driver / operator of company vehicles. Provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provides related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned. These are to backfill courier positions that have promoted or terminated.

Employment type: Part-time. Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday as required. Working hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up packages using company vehicles in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Check shipments for conformance to FedEx service features and provide related customer service functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

• High school diploma/GED. Must be licensed for type of vehicle assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Neat appearance required for customer contact.
• Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Medical exam required.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 21 years of age, lift 50 pounds consistently, High School/GED Diploma, valid driver’s license consistently for the past three years.
• Successful completion of a Federal Drug screen and background check.
