AF Distributors is a leading two-step distributor serving brick and mortar dealers with Fireplaces, Hearth Products, BBQ Grills, and Outdoor Heating Solutions in the Western United States. The company is privately owned and based in Phoenix, AZ.

Scope of Position

We are looking for a Warehouse Associate to join our team. This role is responsible for all functions related to shipping and receiving duties, including processing requests and supply orders, pulling materials, packing boxes, and placing orders in the delivery area for pickup. The position will receive and process all merchandise entering and leaving the building, maintain stockroom organization, and uphold merchandise quality. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist in inventory process
• Receive and unload merchandise from trucks
• Organize and catalogue large batches of similar items
• Build and wrap pallets for secure shipment with freight
• Process damages, transfers, and return to vendor merchandise
• Pack and ship items securely and effectively to minimize breakage
• Participate in stockroom maintenance, organization, and housekeeping
• Verify documents and reports in accordance to the unloaded merchandise
• Follow shortage programs and procedures as they pertain to the receiving function
• Collect cardboard boxes and trash and discard in the appropriate receptacle
• Unpack merchandise from vendor boxes and remove packaging
• Maintain excellent service by following organizational standards of quality and shipping/receiving best practices
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, packing area, and workstations neat; maintain clean shipping supply area; comply with procedures and regulations

Required Education And Experience

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Excellent packing skills
• Strong computer skills
• Strong communication and people skills
• Previous warehouse experience with knowledge of packaging and shipping standards
• Physical ability to lift at least 30 lbs; position requires heavy lifting, constant movement and standing
