Position
The Ready Mix Driver transports ready mix concrete to construction projects, company facilities, and various customers. This is a skilled role requiring safe and efficient operation of ready mix trucks. Deliveries occur in both industrial and residential areas and work is performed per the supervisor’s instructions, with limited direct supervision on straightforward tasks.

Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines.
- Load and unload materials as needed.
- Monitor gauges during vehicle operation.
- Maintain daily vehicle mileage logs.
- Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Obey applicable laws and dispatch instructions.
- Assure product quality to the best of your ability.
- Perform minor servicing and maintenance; refer major problems to the supervisor.
- Keep the vehicle clean and orderly.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance at assigned times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, each essential duty should be performed satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience driving mixer trucks preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with CDL A or CDL B required.
Work Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must pass DOT physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
- Must possess valid DOT medical card.
- Adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Willingness to work in a team and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
- Maintain current driver’s license meeting state requirements (CDL A and/or B; air brake endorsement; hazmat/tanker endorsements as applicable).
- MVR must meet company and DOT standards.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when required; willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
- Wear PPE in designated areas as stated by OSHA/MSHA (hard hat, safety toe shoes, safety glasses).
- Compliance with all OSHA and MSHA regulations.
Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to learn operational knowledge of mixer trucks and related equipment.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math for time/material records and project documents.
- Operate equipment safely under varying conditions and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team or independently with attention to detail.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment requiring judgment and securely handle heavy loads.
- Familiarity with securing heavy equipment and other over-dimensional loads.
- Ability to interact professionally with customers and assist with issues as they arise.
- Ability to operate various equipment types, including Truck, Ready Mix Truck, Loader/Backhoe, and Haul Truck.
Physical and Work Environment
- Climb, stoop, bend, squat, lift, sit, drive, and handle loads and equipment; vision and dexterity required.
- May require extended sitting; ability to exert varying levels of force as needed.
- Work in all weather conditions; exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals; moving parts; high places; and loud environments.
