Responsibilities

• Attend and complete all required training sessions and obtain all online certifications from applicable binding and helmet manufacturers.
• Attend vendor-led clinics.
• Provide consistent exceptional customer service.
• Assist guests through the rental process and in selecting equipment.
• Ensure all equipment is adjusted for the renter per industry standards and that waivers are signed where required.
• Provide appropriate instruction on rental equipment use and customer responsibility.
• Utilize the computerized rental solutions system to check out and check in equipment accurately.
• Inspect rental equipment for general condition and damage upon rental and return.
• Monitor guest flow and expedite the rental process as needed.
• Engage guests on the retail floor, answering questions in a prompt and professional manner.
• Assist in stocking and maintaining the retail sales floor.
• Use POS software to sell retail items and rental products; inform management of stock levels.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop appearance.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of Powder Mountain terrain and provide terrain advice for an exceptional guest experience.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• HS Diploma – preferred
• Adherence to Powder Mountain appearance guidelines
• Acquire binding certifications and follow training as required
• Proficiency with phone systems, POS software, and scheduling software
• Proficiency with Google Suite
• Strong computer experience
• Ability to work with the public in a friendly, courteous manner
• Ability to handle high customer demand, including weekends and holidays
• Polished, polite, resourceful, and proactive in anticipating guest needs
• Articulate, enthusiastic, and able to remain energetic during peak seasons
• Reliable transportation or commitment to using UTA
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and on-call as needed

Physical Requirements

• Full range of body movement including handling, lifting, reaching, bending, and climbing
• Lift and carry objects up to 40+ lbs such as ski equipment and merchandise
• Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and twisting during customer service, inventory and equipment handling
• Walk on even, uneven, and slippery terrain around shop areas
• Climb/descend stairs and ladders; access storage areas and lofts
• Operate manual tools and power equipment (e.g., ski tuning machines, binding tools)
• Safely handle hazardous materials such as ski waxes and tuning chemicals

Working Environment

• Indoor and outdoor conditions at a high-altitude mountain location
• Cold temperatures, especially outdoors or during equipment transfer
• Moderate to high noise levels due to customers and equipment
• Exposure to snow, wind, and wet conditions
• Fast-paced environment during peak ski season with high customer volume
• Weekend, holiday, and varied shift requirements based on mountain operations
