The Squarespace Finance team is looking for an Accountant to join our NYC office. You will play an important part in both the month-end close and the transformation of our financial reporting processes through automation. You will lead process and system initiatives that streamline workflows and improve the accuracy and efficiency of our close. This is a great opportunity to apply your accounting expertise to strengthen financial reporting at a growing company. This is a hybrid role, working from our NYC office 2-3 days per week. You will report directly to the Accounting Lead.

Responsibilities

• Support the accounting team with daily and monthly functions, ensuring transactions are processed in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and journal entries including accruals, allocations, VAT and other miscellaneous areas
• Gain an understanding of business processes and connect them to financial results
• Perform financial statement analysis and document explanations for fluctuations
• Support internal and external audit requests related to specific areas of responsibility on a quarterly and annual basis
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including process enhancements and the implementation of new technologies for a more accurate and efficient month-end close
• Help create and maintain accounting procedures that comply with internal control guidance

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CPA eligibility preferred)
• 4+ years of experience in public accounting or within a corporate finance team, with emphasis on month-end close
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience with financial systems and ERP platforms (NetSuite preferred)
• Experience with Coupa is a plus
• Experience with audit processes and internal controls

Cash Compensation Range: $105,500 - $160,000 USD

Note: The base salary varies based on job-related criteria including skills, experience, and location. Squarespace employees may be granted an option to purchase our common stock.
