Starting Salary Range: $52.45 - $52.45

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for installation and maintenance of a wide variety of components associated with power distribution, substations, and general electrical maintenance at BWL production facilities including but not limited to: Delta Energy Park, Reo Town Generation Facility, Dye Water, Wise Road facilities and all substations.
  • Install and maintain breakers, transformers, switches, tap changers on 138 kV, and on potentially energized voltages of 13.2 kV, 480 V and lighting systems.
  • Install and repair electric motors and controls.
  • Install electric conduit and cable.
  • Install and maintain DC battery system.
  • Work on computer equipment installations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Follow BWL Safety Manual and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Attend safety awareness or skills training as required by supervisor, BWL or governmental agency such as MIOSHA.
  • Respond to code calls or other emergencies within the production facility.
  • Performs other duties as required or necessitated by job responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Journeyworker certification as electrician and experience working in commercial and/or industrial installations required.
  • Experience on three-phase 480-volt distribution systems and motor connections.
  • Experience with primary cable terminations; installation, operation, and maintenance of high-voltage switchgear.
  • Must be respirator and CPR/First Aid certified within one (1) month of hire.
  • Familiar with LOTO (Lock – Out – Tag – Out) and clearance procedures.
  • Will be required to work overtime, on-call and any shift, not necessarily with Saturdays and Sundays off.
  • DC battery services experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Lift boxes, conduit, cable, panels, and controllers weighing up to fifty pounds. Considerable standing and walking. Work involves bending, crouching, kneeling, while making installations. Frequently work from ladders and platforms; must be able to climb stairs and ladders. Must have good visual acuity to read blueprints and to make proper cable terminations. Must have good hearing to communicate in noisy environments and to locate source of electrical problems. Must occasionally work in confined and enclosed spaces and wear respirator.

Working Conditions

All temperature and humidity ranges. Noise and dust levels may be high at times.
