The Human Resources Manager is responsible for effectively managing all HR/employee relations aspects of a manufacturing operation, including coordination for all salaried and hourly employee training and development. This role is located at our plant in Weyauwega, WI.

Responsibilities

  • Provide functional/operational human resources guidance through planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the Human Resources Department in support of the assigned client group.
  • Serve as functional resource for the employee base, ensuring their understanding and compliance with benefit and HR policies and regulations.
  • Keep management advised of potential problem areas and recommend/implement solutions as appropriate.
  • Evaluate reports, decisions, and results of the client group in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to support continual improvement.
  • Plan, organize, and manage all activities of the HR Department.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of client group goals, objectives and systems.
  • Manage recruitment for all exempt, non-exempt, and hourly employees; monitor recruitment program; provide employee relations counseling and performance planning.
  • Manage and maintain department records and reports.
  • Actively participate in client group and HR projects and meetings.
  • Typically manages 1-2 direct reports; may manage vendor relationships.
  • In applicable locations, ensure compliance with SQF and GMP practices and programs to support safe food packaging products and report food safety problems to the appropriate authority.
  • Size, scope and complexity of the assigned portfolio influence level of responsibility.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources or related field required.
  • 7+ years of experience in professional and progressive HR Generalist roles.
  • Prior team management experience with a proven track record of developing coaching and mentoring direct reports.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Knowledge of applicable state, federal, local employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and internal customers.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to leverage business acumen and analytical capability to align talent acquisition with business strategies.
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex issues; discretion with confidential information.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule during key deadlines; team-oriented with high collaboration and performance focus.
  • Potential travel for special projects.

Preferred/Additional

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • PHR or SPHR certification.
  • Knowledge of CPG/manufacturing industry concepts and practices; knowledge of ADP.
