Job Title: Business Analyst
Clearance Required: Public Trust
Work Location: Remote

Alpha Omega seeks a Business Analyst to support Agile software development and modernization projects for SAMHSA. The BA will work closely with product owners, stakeholders, and development teams to define requirements, manage backlogs, and ensure alignment with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, document, and prioritize business and functional requirements.
  • Translate requirements into user stories and backlog items in Jira.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, UX/UI, and product owners to clarify requirements.
  • Maintain and refine product backlogs.
  • Support release planning and provide input into roadmaps.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of delivered functionality.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Experience/Skills:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Strong experience with Jira (stories, epics, sprints, dashboards).
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering federal IT modernization programs.
  • Familiarity with Drupal CMS and AWS cloud services.
  • Understanding of contract delivery and O&M processes.

Certification(s):

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or PMI-ACP certification.

Salary and Benefit Information:

The likely salary range for this position is $xxx- $70,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
