About the Role

The IT Support Specialist advances Arrupe Jesuit High School’s mission by delivering collaborative, reliable level-one support for students, faculty, and staff; maintaining end-user technology; and documenting and improving everyday IT workflows. The role combines hands-on troubleshooting (devices, A/V, and network basics) with Google Workspace and Windows administration, Chromebook fleet management, and training for non-technical users.

User Technology Support & Training

  • Serve as first responder for technology tickets, walk-ups, classroom calls, hardware/software installs; triage, resolve, or escalate issues.
  • Troubleshoot Windows and ChromeOS devices, Wi-Fi connectivity, printing, displays, and peripherals.
  • Document ticket resolutions with clear notes and next steps; identify and flag recurring issues for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver quick how-tos and provide one-on-one or small group training on common technology tasks, including printing, ClearTouch basics, and requesting tech support.
  • Model patient, mission-aligned service; support occasional after-hours or weekend events.

Asset Management & Classroom A/V

  • Manage inventory of user-facing devices, including laptops, Chromebooks, loaners, peripherals, and adapters.
  • Oversee Chromebook lifecycle: assignment, collection, powerwash/OS refresh, parts replacement, warranty/RMA management.
  • Maintain labeling, asset tags, organized storage, spare parts, and intake of new equipment.
  • Support classroom and event A/V setups, including ClearTouch displays, projectors, audio systems, and wireless casting; coordinate small and large event setups.

Identity & Systems Administration (First-line)

  • Manage domain and identity tasks: device join/leave, OU placement, basic group membership; assist with account lifecycle, password, and security policy compliance.
  • Support delegated Google Workspace and SaaS administration tasks, including user management, device policies, and Groups/shared drives hygiene.
  • Troubleshoot line-of-business applications (e.g., PowerSchool SIS) and perform first-touch infrastructure tasks such as rebooting network gear, checking cabling, and safely managing virtual machines and intercom/PA systems.

Security & Continuity (First-line)

  • Follow and enforce safe security practices: MFA sign-ins, minimum necessary access, and up-to-date devices; flag suspicious activity.
  • Respond quickly to potential security incidents by isolating affected devices and capturing key information.
  • Escalate security concerns immediately to the IT Director.
  • Verify standard security settings on devices and Google Admin; assist with basic disaster recovery checks and backup confirmations.

Candidate Requirements

  • Commitment to Arrupe Jesuit’s mission; integrity and confidentiality in all matters
  • Strong customer service, patience, and clear communication with adolescents and adults
  • Solid troubleshooting habits; ability to learn new systems quickly; comfortable on your feet around campus.
  • Experience in K-12 or higher-ed support preferred.
  • Hands-on with: Chromebook or other PC repair, basic A/V troubleshooting preferred.
  • Windows device setup/domain join, basic AD concepts, Hyper-V familiarity, any user management system, Google Admin Console & ChromeOS management preferred.

Arrupe Jesuit High School is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
