Analytical Services - Agricultural Experiment Station Chemical Laboratories. Job Description
This position is classified as part-time/temporary to address an urgent staffing need. The role may require up to 40 hours per week, with potential overtime. The work schedule would be 7:30-4pm Monday through Friday. Dependent upon a number of factors, this position, may in the future transition to a benefit-eligible position. The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) Agricultural Experiment Station Chemical Laboratories is seeking a Part-time/temporary chemist. Responsibilities include: Performs, research and services involving complex scientific instruments as assigned, using existing procedures, practices, techniques, etc. in a specialized area of chemistry. Performs a variety of standard assignments and responsibilities and makes recommendations for improvement/efficiency, as necessary. Conducts various analyses and research and prepares reports based on specialized procedures that assist senior level associates. Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems and/or correct standard, routine issues. Completes job responsibilities according to Science & Environmental Health plans, goals, and objectives Has limited impact on own work team Works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet established deadlines Exchanges information in a straightforward manner Maintains accurate records of all project work, compiles data for reports and papers and attends scientific conferences. Develops working relationships with related, internal teams/parties Job responsibilities listed herein are a general description of typical job duties, responsibilities, qualifications, and physical demands of the incumbents but should not be considered all-encompassing as actual responsibilities may additionally include other duties as assigned.

Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $18.87 - $26.87/hourly.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
