Essential Job Summary: The Operations Supervisor II will oversee collections across multiple lines of business, including commercial and residential services. You will manage drivers and helpers and collaborate with the Operations Hauling Manager on tactical initiatives aimed at achieving functional excellence and budget compliance. Ensuring a strong focus on safety, you'll lead operations in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations while fostering a culture of employee engagement. Essential Job Functions:

To succeed in this role, you must be able to perform the following duties: Route Planning and Safety Awareness: Ensure drivers and helpers check in fit for duty, in uniform, and equipped with proper PPE. Lead initiatives to achieve and communicate safety objectives. Analyze driving routes for unsafe conditions and collaborate with the sales and dispatch team to address issues. Work closely with the maintenance department to ensure compliance with safety standards for all equipment. Implement and maintain effective safety programs to promote a safe and productive work environment. Observe routes and coach drivers on safety techniques. Engage employees in safety practices through personal commitment and outreach. Utilize telematics to monitor and coach employees on driving safety. Conduct vehicle inspections for safety compliance. Respond to vehicle incidents and perform preliminary investigations. Assess new stop locations for safe service delivery. Supervise DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) activities. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and maintain accurate route documentation. Customer Experience: Deliver exceptional service to all customers, exceeding their expectations. Understand and meet missed pickup goals. Resolve service requests and equipment breakdowns with timely communication. Engage with customers to address and rectify issues. Inform relevant contacts about Municipal work changes. Conduct onsite customer visits when required. Represent the company positively to enhance customer satisfaction. Efficiency: Devise cost-effective route assignments in line with business objectives. Analyze route performance to ensure timely pickups. Monitor missed pickup goals and work towards meeting them. Review weight audit activities effectively. Conduct route audits to avoid servicing canceled customers. Coordinate with Dispatch to manage traffic flow. Track employee attendance and performance metrics. Ensure adherence to waste segregation and disposal protocols. Employee Engagement: Foster a collaborative team environment to enhance engagement. Develop team talent and assist employees in achieving their career aspirations. Requirements and Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in waste management operations. 2+ years of supervisory experience in waste management, transportation, or logistics. Experience in route optimization and efficiency improvement. Preferred Associate's degree or higher in Business, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent experience. Understanding of DOT regulations for commercial vehicles. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of PowerBI preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and basic Excel; ability to learn new software applications. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Defensive driving certification (Smith System 5 Keys).
