Job Summary Are you passionate about driving and eager to earn your CDL A license? Join Talon Logistics, Giant Eagle's transportation company, as a Loader while you work towards your CDL A certification! Our in-house training program allows you to begin your driving career in as little as 6 months.

After completing the training, you can transition to a full-time Driver role. As a Class A CDL Driver, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and damage-free delivery of products via tractor trailers. This vital work supports our stores, meets delivery schedules, and enhances customer satisfaction. Experience Required:

0 to 6 months

Experience Desired:

Experience with electric pallet jacks is a plus; Power Industrial Truck (PIT) certification is optional.

Education Desired:

No High School diploma is required.

Certification or Licensing Required:

Must have a valid driver's license for at least two years prior to hire. Must have no commercial DUI/DWI on record. Must have no personal DUI/DWI on record within the last 5 years.

Lifting Requirement:

Up to 100 pounds.

Age Requirement:

At least 18 years of age.

Job Responsibilities Maintain flexibility in scheduling to meet the Company’s production needs. Follow all Company policies, safety protocols, and sanitation rules diligently. Comply with food safety procedures rigorously. Regularly push, pull, lift, and carry up to 90 lbs. safely. Operate equipment, including electric pallet jacks and radio frequency (RF) units, safely and courteously. Conduct a safety check on all equipment before starting. Ensure that the dock door and trailer are secure before entry. Prepare trailers for loading by emptying, cleaning, and sweeping them. Sort, load, and unload products following safety procedures for efficient, damage-free delivery. Verify each pallet's destination store before placing it in the trailer. Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding safety, equipment, and any issues that arise. Bring completed load paperwork to the office to be processed for dispatch. Unload non-palletized freight and backhauls. Perform other relevant duties as assigned. Must be able to read and speak English effectively. Ability to follow directions and possess strong communication skills. Starting Rate of Pay:
