About The Position Job Title: Clinical Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Radiology Associate Duration: 9 months Shift: Monday through Friday Hours per Shift: 7.50 Experience: Minimum of 2 years RN experience; 2 years of ambulatory outpatient and radiation safety experience License: NYS RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: EPIC experience highly preferred Description: The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse. Provides safe and competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Delivers patient care by integrating the principles of Relationship Centered Care. Applies the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards. Assesses and evaluates patient care needs. Applies critical thinking skills in patient care management. Integrates relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. Prioritizes aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care. Educates patients and caregivers about their plan of care. Anticipates needs and readiness to learn about health promotion and disease prevention. Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, families, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team. Manages assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing. Demonstrates effective allocation of material resources. Patient Experience: Role models the tenets of Relationship Centered Care. Facilitates actions such as Admission Welcome and Bedside Shift Report. Considers patients' values, preferences, cultural diversity, and expressed needs. Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Uses evidence-based practices to enhance understanding of patients' perceptions of care. Initiates service recovery for patients and families with concerns. Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening. Conducts hourly rounding on assigned patients addressing key aspects of care. Quality and Safety: Practices safe and efficient patient-centered care. Identifies and escalates barriers and opportunities for improvement. Demonstrates essential clinical skills and knowledge for quality and safety. Implements process improvement strategies based on evidence-based protocols. Engages in peer and institutional review processes. Collaborates to implement quality improvement projects and nursing research studies. Contributes to quality and safety practices and compliance measures. Implements principles of high reliability to avoid high-risk behaviors. Escalates potential safety hazards following institutional protocols. Documents nursing practices to support quality and performance improvement initiatives. Operations: Performs charge nurse duties as needed. Coordinates with management to ensure adequate supply utilization and inventory. Escalates material or staffing resource deficits as necessary. Demonstrates patient-focused and cost-effective approaches to care. Documents accurately and thoroughly to meet compliance and standards of care. Facilitates patient throughput as needed. Professional Development: Contributes to a supportive environment for colleagues and patients. Advances clinical competence to progress in nursing practice. Projects a professional image and communicates with respect and empathy. Incorporates ethical principles into decision-making for patients and families.
