Job Title: Assembler
Job Description
The assembler is responsible for the mechanical assembly and finishing of in-process units. This involves constructing the box frame using rectangular metal pieces and tools, as well as wrapping and securing the finished unit in a cardboard box for shipment. Dexterity is required for box finishing, which involves wrapping the unit from various angles.
Responsibilities
Perform simple mechanical assembly and finishing of units.
Construct box frames by attaching rectangular metal pieces using tools.
Move completed units to the boxing area on wheels.
Wrap and staple cardboard boxes around completed units for shipment.
Maintain high-quality work and adhere to safety standards.
Essential Skills
Experience in a job requiring standing for at least 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week.
Ability to repetitively lift 30-40lb parts, up to 50+ times per day.
Familiarity with hand and power tools.
Ownership of steel-toed or composite-toed protective shoes.
Ability to work safely and maintain high-quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with assembly in a production environment is preferred.

Work Environment
The work environment is a standard fabrication and assembly operation, divided into a fabrication area and an assembly area. The fabrication area includes a massive laser cutting machine, deburring and brazing stations, and basic hand tool workstations. The assembly area is organized yet somewhat cramped, as units are assembled on carts rather than conveyors. The facility is temperature-controlled, though employees may feel warm due to wearing arm sleeves. There are two shifts: 1st shift from 6am-4:30pm, with mandatory overtime on Fridays. The dress code requires steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, protective cut sleeves, cut gloves, and specific types of pants.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
