Operations Supervisor II

Essential Job Summary: The Operations Supervisor II oversees collection activities across various service lines, including commercial, residential, roll-off, and container delivery. This role involves managing drivers and helpers while collaborating with the Operations Hauling Manager to implement initiatives that promote operational excellence and budget adherence. The Supervisor will lead efforts to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards while fostering a culture of employee engagement. Essential Job Functions: Route Planning and Safety Awareness Ensure drivers and helpers are fit for duty, in uniform, and have the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Lead safety goals and initiatives, analyzing routes for unsafe conditions. Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure equipment safety and compliance. Implement and maintain effective safety and accident prevention programs. Conduct route observations and coach drivers on safe driving practices. Utilize telematics to monitor driving behaviors and address unsafe practices. Ensure adherence to DOT regulations and maintain accurate documentation. Customer Experience Deliver exceptional service and exceed customer expectations. Monitor missed pickup metrics and resolve service issues promptly. Engage with customers to enhance their overall experience. Regular onsite customer visits may be required. Efficiency Identify and develop cost-effective route assignments to meet business objectives. Analyze route performance to ensure timely pickups. Collaborate with Dispatch to manage door traffic effectively. Monitor employee performance, attendance, and punctuality. Employee Engagement Foster a collaborative environment and drive employee engagement. Support employee development, understanding their career goals, and provide coaching for advancement. Requirements and Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in waste management operations. 2+ years of supervisory experience in waste management or logistics. Experience in route optimization and efficiency improvement. Associate's degree or higher in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of DOT requirements. Familiarity with PowerBI and proficient in Microsoft Outlook and basic Excel. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Defensive Driving certification preferred.
