Estimator – General Contractor

Our client, a well-established General Contractor based in Dallas, is seeking a talented Estimator to join their team.
This contractor specializes in ground-up commercial projects across K-12, Higher Education, Municipal, Public Sector, and Government Infrastructure. The Role:
As an Estimator, you will play a vital role in the preconstruction process, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and value in every bid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for ground-up commercial projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope and requirements.
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analyses.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and provide cost-saving solutions.
- Work closely with Project Managers and leadership teams to develop proposals and bid strategies.
- Assist in preparing and presenting bid packages to clients.
- Track historical cost data to improve future estimating accuracy.
- Maintain strong subcontractor and supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing.
- Stay current with market trends, material costs, and construction methods.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as an Estimator with a General Contractor.
- Proven track record on ground-up commercial projects in K-12, higher education, municipal, or government sectors.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software and takeoff tools.
