My client is seeking a Construction Project Manager based in Pittsburgh, reporting to the West Regional Vice President. The successful candidate will oversee all project activities to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded, while also achieving profitability goals. This includes fulfilling all contractual obligations, maintaining schedules and other commitments, and promoting a culture of safety.

Essential Functions

  • Attend regular planning and progress meetings with the project team
  • Coordinate all project management activities across selected accounts
  • Procure and manage subcontractors
  • Prepare CPM schedules using Microsoft Project
  • Conduct thorough turnover and preplanning activities in line with company procedures
  • Lead short interval planning meetings with foremen, subcontractors, and clients
  • Ensure project execution aligns with the corporate safety program
  • Perform ongoing productivity studies
  • Provide accurate monthly cost reporting and project status forecasting
  • Approve equipment and material submittals to meet contract requirements
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs for estimating and purchasing
  • Analyze system designs for potential design-build or value engineering opportunities
  • Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills
  • Deliver quality customer service and follow-up as needed
  • Interface with clients at all levels and coordinate upcoming project statuses
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience, Technical Skills & Attributes Required

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in mechanical construction project management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across departments, clients, and subcontractors
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Energetic and proactive with a high sense of urgency
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and other technical project documents (preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of piping and sheet-metal systems (preferred)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus
