About the Role
The Company is seeking a Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) to provide executive-level clinical and operational leadership in the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and culturally competent care to its members. The DCMO will have primary responsibility for comprehensive clinical oversight, including quality of care, safety, clinical effectiveness, and medical management. This role involves ensuring that clinical operations are evidence-based, compliant with regulations, and aligned with value-based care models. The successful candidate will be a key partner to the Chief Medical Officer, leading the integration of clinical operations with organizational strategy, and will be expected to have a strong background in managed care.
Essential functions of the DCMO include direct oversight of all clinical programs and functions, monitoring and evaluating clinical outcomes, and leading continuous quality improvement initiatives. The role also requires operational and strategic management, team leadership, and talent development, as well as stakeholder engagement with providers, regulators, and community partners. The ideal candidate will have a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry, and have a minimum of 7 years of progressive clinical leadership experience in behavioral health. At least 3 years of executive or senior management experience and expertise in clinical oversight, utilization management, quality improvement, and value-based care models are essential, with managed care experience being strongly preferred.
