What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): - Oversee and ensure adherence to organizational and regulatory principles, policies, and procedures - Monitor the availability and necessity of care provided by healthcare professionals - Participate in the daily operations of the Utilization Management program, including rendering denial determinations - Develop quality care guidelines and evaluate medical care under quality assurance programs - Serve as a liaison between the healthcare plan and providers regarding medical policy and administration
What is Required (Qualifications): - Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree, licensed in Wisconsin without restriction - Required participation in management committees within a practice or hospital setting - Management or managed care courses preferred - Experience as a medical director preferred - Knowledge of managed care principles, utilization management, and population health preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): - Experience in managed care or quality assurance roles - Additional certifications related to healthcare management - Strong communication and interpersonal skills within a medical community context - Involvement in physician recruitment or training initiatives - Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards
