Director, Production (Development Creative Executive)
Job Summary:
The Director, Production (Development Creative Executive) is responsible for overseeing aspects of Animated film development for Disney Live Action (DLA).
Responsibilities:
• Supports senior executives in the development of animated for streaming and theatrical films
• Sources and assesses creative submissions and identifies concepts that work with the Disney Live Action (DLA) vision
• Collaborates with senior executives to develop projects from idea through the production process
• Builds and maintains relationships with outside sources, creative community, and internal creative counterparts
• Identifies talent thru traditional and nontraditional research methods, inclusive of new and emerging technologies
• Handles notes on films for senior executives
• Completes research assignments for senior executives
• Sources creative materials for review and development by senior executives
• May pitch projects internally for development
• May begin to develop their own projects to be shadowed by senior executives
• Reports to a senior executive but services any senior executive on the team
• May have a shared assistant
Requirements:
• 5 or more years of experience as a Creative Executive in Animation development
• Proven ability to successfully source and assess potential creative concepts for development
• Solid knowledge of the film production process
• In-depth experience working with Talent (writers, directors, producers, actors)
• Ability to access strong story lines and marketability
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with varied levels of management, talent, and staff
• Understands the global and multicultural audience and how to adapt content to appeal to a wide audience
• Ability to negotiate and effectively reach resolution
• Highly organized with excellent follow through
• Must be able to work on site 5 days per week
Preferred Qualifications
• Animation feature development experience highly preferred
The hiring range for this position in California is $117,900.00-$152,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
