Software Engineer, OpenShift Managed Services (Quality Focus) at Red Hat. The Red Hat Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer with a strong Quality Focus to join its OpenShift Cluster Lifecycle team. This team is responsible for provisioning and lifecycling Managed OpenShift services across major cloud platforms, including AWS, GCP, and Azure. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and shipping reliable production-ready features and enhancements for managed Red Hat OpenShift platforms. Success requires excellent technical and communication skills, collaborating closely with Development, Site Reliability, Performance, and Architects within Red Hat and across the open source community. What You Will Do

Design and develop new features and enhancements for projects centered around Managed OpenShift. Take primary responsibility for product quality: design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies, own automated test suites, and foster a quality-focused culture to test, identify failure points, and build more resilient solutions. Automate operational and testing workflows to improve the development lifecycle and ensure robust CI/CD processes. Participate in AI-assisted code reviews including design and architectural reviews, providing feedback on functionality, scalability, and performance. Coordinate with team leads, SREs, architects, and other engineers on product design and architecture decisions with a focus on testability and quality attributes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption of AI in engineering practices and share successful use cases. Publicize the team's work through blogs, web postings, and conference talks. What You Will Bring

2+ years of professional Linux experience with proficiency in Golang, Python, Java, C, or C++. Experience with microservices, APIs, versioning strategies, and monitoring tools. Proficiency in testing methodologies (unit, integration, end-to-end). Knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Hands-on experience with container technologies (Kubernetes/OpenShift) or virtualization/distributed systems. Hands-on experience with CI/CD technologies and test automation tools. Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), TDD, BDD. Familiarity with AI/ML concepts as they apply to operational optimization, intelligent automation, or data analysis. Experience applying AI-assisted tools to improve code quality and development speed. Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to evolving technical landscapes. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience. The Following Are Considered a Plus

Industry experience with OpenShift or a Kubernetes distribution. Open source development experience. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCE, or Azure). Experience with AI or ML tools applied to operational optimization or data analysis. Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $94,550.00 - $151,170.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. Pay transparency describes compensation practices and eligibility for bonus, commission, and equity. For Remote-US locations, the salary range may differ by location but will align with job duties and experience. Benefits:
