Chief Electrical Estimator
to lead their estimating department and drive strategy for major projects. Compensation & Benefits Competitive executive-level base salary (DOE) Bonus potential tied to company performance Comprehensive health insurance package 401(k) with company match Paid vacation & PTO Company vehicle or vehicle allowance Duties & Responsibilities Oversee and lead the estimating department, managing all preconstruction and bid activities Develop and implement estimating strategies for large-scale commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects Review complex project specifications, drawings, and scope to ensure accurate, competitive bids Provide executive-level insight into project budgets, cost control, and bid presentation to leadership Mentor, train, and oversee the work of junior and senior estimators, ensuring departmental growth and consistency Establish and maintain key relationships with GCs, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to secure competitive pricing and repeat business Lead pre-bid meetings, site walks, and negotiations with ownership and executive teams Collaborate with project management, engineering, and field operations to ensure seamless handoff and execution post-award Continuously refine estimating processes, technology, and cost databases to improve accuracy and efficiency Report directly to executive leadership with forecasting, risk analysis, and strategic recommendations Qualifications 10+ years of electrical estimating experience with an electrical contractor Proven track record of leadership in an estimating or preconstruction management role Expertise in commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects (multi-million-dollar range) Proficiency with industry-standard estimating software (Accubid, McCormick, Conest, or similar) Strong business acumen, with the ability to influence and strategize at an executive level Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Stable work history and ability to build, lead, and retain a high-performing estimating team All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
