are seeking a
Senior Preconstruction Architect / Designer
to oversee the planning and design of electric vehicle (EV) operations facilities across a growing portfolio. These facilities support daily vehicle operations and include infrastructure for charging, servicing, and support functions. In this leadership role, you will guide design strategy, manage complex projects, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver scalable, efficient, and compliant facilities. You will also play a key role in developing design standards and driving consistency across all sites. Responsibilities
Lead the architectural vision and strategy for EV operations facilities, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational needs. Manage multiple concurrent design projects from concept through construction, balancing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations. Oversee feasibility studies, site layouts, and early-stage design concepts for new and existing facilities. Guide the design and coordination of EV charging layouts, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and electrical requirements. Partner with engineering, operations, real estate, and facilities teams to define requirements and ensure cohesive design execution. Lead permitting efforts and ensure all designs meet applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards. Develop and maintain design playbooks and guidelines to ensure consistency and repeatability across projects. Review construction documentation and shop drawings, and conduct site visits to ensure design intent is upheld. Contribute to long-term infrastructure planning and real estate strategy through architectural expertise and technical insight. Manage relationships with external architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure quality and alignment with design standards. Implement design review processes and support continuous improvement across the design and construction lifecycle. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. Licensed Architect with 12+ years of experience in architectural design and pre-construction, with a focus on transportation, industrial, or technical facilities. Demonstrated leadership in managing complex, multi-site design projects. Experience designing EV charging infrastructure and coordinating with electrical systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural design tools. Deep understanding of building codes (ADA, NEC) and permitting processes. Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Experience developing design standards or playbooks for scalable infrastructure. Familiarity with sustainability principles and energy-efficient design strategies. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving priorities. Additional Information
