As a Test Engineer, you navigate Google's massive codebase, identify weak spots and constantly design better and creative ways to break software and identify potential problems. You\'ll have a huge impact on the quality of Google\'s growing suite of products and services. Our Digital Car Key (DCK) testing team is focused on delivering reliable and smooth digital car key experiences, ensuring you can unlock and start your car easily and securely with your phone and watch, and share keys seamlessly across platforms. In this team, you will work with engineers to develop test strategies, test automation, and positively impact product quality. Responsibilities
Lead the testing strategy, design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test plans and automated test cases, ensuring exceptional end-to-end quality for products. Architect and build test infrastructure and tools. Create scalable, reliable, and intelligent automation frameworks that redefine testing efficiency and effectiveness. Drive technical innovation by exploring and integrating the latest technologies, including AI and machine learning, to enhance test coverage, improve reporting, and optimize testing processes. Serve as a technical mentor for junior engineers on the team. Provide guidance, conduct code reviews, and help them grow their skills in test design, automation, and problem-solving. Collaborate across teams with product managers, software developers, and other test teams to identify risks and deliver optimal and creative testing solutions that support product goals. Minimum qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience in coding, developing test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging. Experience in building testing frameworks, tools and automation within an enterprise environment. Experience with test driven development. Preferred qualifications
Master\'s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 5 years of experience as a Software Test Engineer or in a similar role, focusing on designing and developing test methodologies, writing comprehensive test plans, and creating automated test cases. Experience in building and maintaining scalable automation frameworks, and in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++. Experience testing consumer-facing software and hardware. Understanding of the Android platform, Wear OS, or other embedded systems. About the job and compensation
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$211,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
