Summary: The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, “to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” The AIT and Assistant Managers perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g., cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Work directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Teammates and provide leadership. The AIT and Assistant Manager will also share responsibility for training and motivating Teammates and act as the Store Manager in their absence. The Assistant Manager Position is a progression from the AIT position and therefore includes additional high level duties that are specific to that position, though the majority of job duties and responsibilities are shared. Responsibilities

Sales Generation and Guest Service: greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude; provide legendary service; answer questions about store and merchandise; recommend and locate merchandise based on Guest needs; anticipate Guest needs and create a wardrobe experience; demonstrate product knowledge and share it with the team; stay current on promotions, policies, and security practices; execute personal sales goals and assist in driving store performance; maintain guest relationships and build client-based business; lead by example with showmanship and customer service; use SPG daily to achieve goals; support Buckle loyalty programs and guest engagement; communicate Guest levels to the team; coach and welcome feedback to improve sales presentations; ensure leadership actions are performed even when the Manager is not present; plan sales goals with Store Manager; demonstrate ownership of store sales performance. Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development: identify recruiting opportunities; develop relationships with Guests and Loyalty programs; train and motivate new Teammates; maintain a positive floor culture; demonstrate personal dress code; participate in daily setup, training, and performance tracking; motivate Teammates to complete daily tasks; coach Teammates in denim showmanship and fit cards; execute department-focused actions and weekly plans; support education and leadership development; train on non-sales positions and leadership playbook; identify training needs and follow up with the Manager. Visual Merchandise Management: own and influence product zoning; execute new tools and videos; delegate and review all four zones; ensure adherence to Visual Standards and weekly checklists; recognize merchandising opportunities from freight to floor; conduct informative store tours; manage backroom and floor visual standards; drive store performance through visual changes and proactive planning. Operations: maintain a flexible schedule (including holidays and peak shopping days); complete Opening/Closing Checklists; monitor security and Loss Prevention; execute POS procedures; manage communications with Corporate; maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store; provide feedback on merchandise handling; communicate policy violations and concerns; apply Buckle Code of Ethics and policies; complete required HR processes and legal paperwork; manage inventory of supplies; respond to emergencies in the Store Manager’s absence. Supervisory and Leadership: provide and receive feedback; support store leadership; promote personal and store growth; maintain professional relationships with Teammates; conduct daily interviews to support team development; solve problems and motivate self-education on company tools; travel to cover other stores if needed; manage schedule changes professionally; uphold the mission statement and contribute to a positive team spirit; handle special projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related retail experience or equivalent Relocation may be required; no visa sponsorship available; ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel as needed Physical Demands
