We’re seeking an experienced
Senior Project Manager
to coordinate large-scale facilities and construction projects for the U.S. Department of State. This position is ideal for a PMP-certified professional who thrives in high-impact environments, managing complex renovations, space planning, and construction oversight for sensitive federal facilities. Key Responsibilities Lead pre-planning activities: housing and space assignment, architectural and engineering design, construction drawings and specifications. Oversee project budgets, cost estimates, fiscal year funding plans, and financial records. Consult with GSA, contractors, and DoS senior management to clarify requirements and ensure project objectives in scope, budget, quality, and schedule. Provide renovation program support, space plan coordination, furniture/equipment planning, and relocation assistance. Conduct construction and inspection reviews, track change orders, and ensure compliance with DoS, federal, and local regulations. Deliver post-occupancy assistance to address outstanding issues or defects. Provide architectural and engineering expertise to resolve design and construction challenges. Coordinate review and approval processes with local and federal agencies, commissions, and stakeholders. Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and management plans to senior leadership. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree
in Architecture, Interior Design, Architectural Engineering, or related field (focus in facilities management preferred). PMP certification
required at start or within 12 months of hire (must maintain current certification). At least two years of experience
managing facilities projects with emphasis on project planning, resource scheduling, cost monitoring, and task assignment/timeline management. Knowledge of
building codes, ADA requirements , and working familiarity with IT, mechanical, electrical, or communications systems. Strong communication skills —both written and verbal—with a proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders. Technical skills : Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD proficiency.
