Overview
Director of Business Intelligence – The Suddath Companies The Suddath Companies seek a strategic and visionary Director of Business Intelligence to lead the enterprise-wide reporting and analytics function. This role is responsible for the overall BI strategy, governance, design, and analysis of all reporting across the organization—including financial, accounting, HR, operations, sales, customer service, billing, and collections. As the BI leader for the commercial relocation vertical of a global transportation and logistics company, you will enable data-driven decision-making across diverse service lines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive BI strategy aligned with business goals and growth initiatives.
Promote data literacy and evidence-based decision-making across all departments.
Lead and mentor a team of BI analysts and developers.
Establish and maintain data governance frameworks and reporting standards.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, industry regulations, and data privacy laws.
Design and deliver consistent, accurate, and timely reporting across all business functions.
Monitor and report on performance against KPIs and SLAs.
Provide actionable insights through advanced analytics, forecasting, and dashboards.
Translate complex data into clear narratives for executive leadership and presentations.
Job Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of experience in BI, analytics, or data strategy, preferably in service-based or logistics environments.
Proven leadership in a multi-functional, enterprise-wide BI role.
Expertise in BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau) and data warehousing.
Strong understanding of financial, operational, and HR metrics.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Background in commercial relocation, logistics, or workplace solutions is a plus.
Supervisory & Other Responsibilities
This position has management responsibilities over a specified area of the business.

Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or change management methodologies are a plus.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and SQL/Python is desirable.
Language, Mathematical & Reasoning Skills
Ability to read, interpret, and write reports; effective public speaking and presentation skills.
Strong numerical and analytical reasoning abilities; ability to solve practical problems.
Computer Operations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP, CRM, HRIS, and other relevant systems.
Experience with BI tooling and data platforms; familiarity with SQL and Python.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Cubicle environment with moderate noise levels.
Typical office hours with standard ergonomic requirements; no unusual physical demands beyond standard business needs.
