Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Description: Position Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Employment Type: Full Time/Part Time/Hybrid or fully remote/Make your own schedule. Supervisor: Chief Medical Officer/CEO Job Summary: The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide high-quality mental health care to patients in our Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC). The NP will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with mental health disorders. Additionally, the NP will collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of patients. Diagnose mental health disorders based on assessment findings and DSM criteria. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the patient and the multidisciplinary team. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as appropriate. Provide counseling and psychoeducation to patients and their families. Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Document all patient encounters and treatment plans in accordance with clinic policies and procedures. Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in mental health care and medication management. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements. Qualifications: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing. Current, unrestricted NP license in Maryland. Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in mental health care but open to recent graduates Strong diagnostic and assessment skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
