Job Overview
The Laboratory Technician will have strong initiative and be able to perform routine complex inspections. They will perform testing procedures in the field and laboratory for verification of compliance to plans and specifications. The Laboratory Technician will be working out of our HQ office in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Responsibilities
Perform Laboratory tests on soils, concrete, and asphalt to conform with Caltrans, ASTM, and AASHTO test methods. Effectively communicate test results to office and field personnel as well as client contacts. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Provide detailed reports and data from test results. Ensure all samples are accurately logged. Provide laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration. Document and implement test process. Sample inventory management. Documentation and data maintenance Perform field inspection, testing and sampling as needed. Pick up soil and concrete samples from various project sites. Qualities for Success
Communication (oral and written), mechanical, and technical skills. Understand construction and manufacturing process, engineering drawings, and assembly testing. Must be punctual, professional, reliable, and dependable. Ability to work effectively with company personnel, as well as with clients and vendors in coordinating client requirements with company’s capability to satisfactorily complete jobs. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and varying hours when required. Knowledge of building systems & construction techniques. Ability to work both inside and outside in varying weather conditions. Qualifications / Experience
Any level of construction materials and/or laboratory testing experience. Basic computer skills Understanding basic math Ability to work variable hours Ability to lift 50 pounds Excellent organizational skills Valid driver's license Education
High school diploma or equivalent-- Required Preferred but not required
