Overview

Research Imaging Specialist II-Ophthalmology at Boston Children's Hospital. Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, maintenance, and operation of optical microscopes, training users, and providing hands-on assistance. Responsibilities

Support state-of-the-art computer-assisted high-speed optical coherence tomography (OCT) and maintain instrumentation and operate imaging equipment. Communicate with and instruct researchers of varying knowledge levels in imaging technology on equipment usage. Communicate with suppliers to report problems, repair, or replace faulty equipment. Data recording and bookkeeping. Prepare oral and written presentations of laboratory activities for internal reports. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor\'s Degree required in Science or Engineering fields, including Biophysics, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Physics, Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field. Advanced Degree preferred. 5 years of experience in visualization modalities such as wide-field, TIRF, and/or confocal microscopy. Specific expertise in optics and fluorescence imaging; experience with optics and/or microscopy. Highly motivated and organized with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively and to develop educational materials and trainings. Ability to use highly technical equipment. Additional Experience (Preferred)

Familiarity with scanning or FIB-SEM electron microscopy and Linux operating systems is useful but not required. Expertise in electron microscopy is useful. Organization and Benefits
