Position summary Project team member responsible for: (1) providing construction project oversight using knowledge of general engineering and construction principles to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute assignments to accomplish client goals; (2) ensuring work is performed and completed in strict accordance with contract documents; (3) acting as a technical advisor to the Owner and team members; (4) teaching and mentoring less experienced engineers and other team members; and (5) other tasks as required. Responsible for delivering for assigned projects including scope, schedule and budget.
Responsibilities
Develop Project Management Plans (PMP) for assigned projects
Provide construction management oversight during all project phases
Create and maintain project schedules
Prepare and update cost estimates and budgets
Assist in performing constructability reviews
Prepare correspondences and formal WMATA responses related to notices, directives, claims, and non-compliance notices
Develop and implement project-specific QA programs
Prepare and submit monthly progress reports and distribute meeting minutes within one week
Manage sub-consultants and technical resources
Coordinate with the client and project team
Maintain familiarity with plans, specifications, schedules, and safety regulations; stay knowledgeable about the project team
Provide subject matter expertise and support development of design and construction contract documents
Provide technical analysis of change requests from design consultants or contractors
Assign technical and administrative personnel as needed
Prepare, monitor and update schedules and budgets
Review and approve contractor invoicing
Prepare client invoices
Participate in client presentations
Assist with marketing proposals and coordination with Section Heads and Service Line Leaders
Lead and manage team members with performance management supporting growth and development
Qualifications
Required Skills: Strong written and verbal communication; strong organizational and time management skills; strong work ethic
Required Experience: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural or related field; 15+ years in a construction-related discipline; Registered Professional Engineer in VA, MD, or DC; experience with Microsoft 365 (Power BI) and Procore
Preferred Experience: CCM or PMP certification; LEED AP; OSHA certifications; experience with government agencies; project management and business development experience; experience with various project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3); experience managing multidisciplinary project teams
Working conditions Work is performed in both office and field (construction) environments. Office-to-field time is approximately 25% to 75% with field work requiring climbing, walking and standing at construction sites. Conditions may include heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid environments. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required. Compensation Compensation for this position is $110,000.00 - $176,800.00, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described in the job description. Actual salary range may vary.
