Location: San Francisco, San Jose

This role involves preparing and auditing income tax provisions, assisting with income tax filings, consulting on planning opportunities, and coaching and developing staff on engagement teams within a growing global tax compliance and reporting function.

Your Role

Act as a key point of contact for client engagements across a wide range of clients and colleagues, including cross-border and cross-functional teaming.

Review client deliverables and drive on-time service delivery, manage engagement economics, and develop internal team members.

Stay up to date on trends, developments, and technical authorities; apply them to complex tax situations.

Identify and resolve tax technical issues and share insights to improve efficiency; identify additional services for clients.

Responsibilities

Provide domestic federal tax advice and guidance tailored to client needs.

Monitor ongoing legislative changes affecting planning activities.

Supervise high-performing teams and share experience in leading-practices.

Develop technical and soft skills of junior colleagues and participate in performance management.

Build relationships at all levels internally and externally to promote collaboration.

Prepare practical recommendations for complex tax issues.

What You’ll Need to Qualify

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a graduate degree in Tax or Law; approximately eight years of related experience.

CPA certification or licensed attorney status.

Background in tax compliance and accounting for income tax; broad understanding of US income taxation.

Experience managing budgets and projects.

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, and data mining tools.

Ability to prioritize on multiple projects and engage with client teams.

Willingness to travel as needed; hybrid work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a professional services environment.

Coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to adapt work style for internal and client teams.

Executive presence and business development skills.
