Dentist 1

position is a direct service position. The incumbent will provide professional dental care for youth who are in the custody of OCFS by diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries and malformations of teeth and gums. Primary Duties And Responsibilities Include

Conduct examinations of individuals teeth and surrounding oral structures utilizing x-rays, mouth mirrors and other diagnostic procedures and instruments to determine pathological or irregular conditions. Treat dental diseases, injuries and malfunctions of teeth and gums. Perform restoration of simple and compound cavities. Administer anesthetics. Perform oral surgery commensurate with professional qualifications. Perform extractions of teeth. Clean teeth by scaling calculus. Treat teeth, mouth and gum infections with appropriate drugs or by surgery. Maintain written records of individuals dental treatments. Advise individuals about dental health practices. Instruct and direct paraprofessional dental staff in the performance of auxiliary duties. Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a license and current registration to practice dentistry in New York State. Must maintain a valid New York State license and registration. Additional Comments

Full-time Salary Range based on 40-hour work week ($186,356-$186,356) Calculation of Pro-Rated Salary: The salary listed is reflective of a full-time, grade 30 in this position. A pro-rated salary will be calculated by the Business Service Center’s Payroll Administration Unit based on the number of hours the selected part-time candidate is slated to work.
