Job Summary:
YouthConnect is a program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston in partnership with the Boston Police Department. YouthConnect is designed to address the unique needs of at-risk and high-risk urban youth who are referred to the program by Boston police officers. Social workers assist in improving the youth’s overall behaviors and performance in school, home and community. A Clinical Social Work Supervisor supervises clinical social workers and maintains a direct practice. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct Practice responsibilities include: Introductory phone calls to youth and families. Home visits, intakes and assessments, referrals, advocacy, clinical case management, crisis intervention and linkage to community-based services. Individual and family counseling. Convene and lead case conferences for clients with families and providers. Develop and maintain relationships with community-based service providers and other public/private providers. Attend community-based meetings pertinent to needs/issues of youth in community. Maintain accurate and timely case records via an electronic database. Participate in weekly individual supervision, group supervision and staff meetings. Supervisory Responsibilities include: Provide weekly individual supervision to two clinical social workers (CSW). Supervise all 1st time home-visits & assessments with supervisees. Triage all new client referrals with supervisees. Oversee and monitor all ongoing cases and treatment plans of supervisees. Provide immediate consultation and support to supervisees around client & case emergencies. Responsible for helping supervisees understand and have impact/presence with key stakeholders and in community meetings. Facilitate clinical meetings as needed. Lead trainings regarding professional development with the assistance of the Lead Social Workers for staff as needed. Monitor documentation of cases via database reports & supervisors’ checklist. Review and revise supervisee’s monthly reports for police commanders. Provide clinical supervision coverage for other CSW’s as needed. Attend meetings with other program supervisors to coordinate clinical and programmatic matters. Leadership Responsibilities include: Assist in training and on-boarding of new staff. Represent YouthConnect at key community, provider and police department meetings to coordinate clinical and programmatic matters. Provide higher level advocacy with the supervisors and managers of other collaterals. Facilitate or supervise any clinical based groups. Take the lead on program projects as needed. Assist with the visibility of the program through external trainings and presentations. Perform other related duties as needed and directed by the YouthConnect senior leadership team. General BGCB Expectations: Healthy Behavior Modeling – Teaching youth/teens the importance of living an active, healthy lifestyle. Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Work Demands) MSW required. LICSW Minimum 2+ years of supervisory experience (clinical supervision) 3-4 years work experience with high-risk urban youth and their families Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as being highly self-directed. Excellent written, verbal & organizational skills. Sense of humor and flexibility needed. Demonstrated ability to work across cultures, ethnic backgrounds and socio-economic groups.
