The
Manager of Marketing & Communications
is responsible for the development and execution of US Club Soccer’s communications and marketing initiatives. This includes managing content for all platforms in alignment with and to catalyze US Club Soccer’s goals and philosophies.
Responsibilities
Strategize, develop and maintain content for US Club Soccer’s social media, website, email marketing and app.
Own the organizational editorial calendar, ensuring appropriate cadences of strategic messaging across all platforms.
Create and lead strategies to grow US Club Soccer digital channels, challenging the MarCom department to create content that engages and increases visibility.
Assist in content creation. Take an active role in ideating and creating content, including editing a pre-made graphic template for newsletters, conducting interviews at events, and potentially appearing on camera for video content.
Own our social media channels. Serve as primary publisher, scheduler, commenter, consumer and analyzer; scale efforts to better serve our membership.
Contribute to web and app strategy and development, particularly through UX and UI perspectives.
Write articles and press releases for publication on digital media channels and distribution to media contacts.
Assist with the maintenance of our email database, including segmentation and template-related tasks.
Collaborate with staff to refine resources supporting member services, administration and partnerships; bring a detail-oriented and creative approach to presentations.
Contribute to the execution of pre-event, on-site and post-event communications plans; organize digital campaigns and event-related promotions.
Collaborate with the MarCom Creative Manager to ensure brand guidelines are adhered to internally and externally; champion the brand and seek scalable branding opportunities.
Coordinate with the MarCom Vice President to maximize external media coverage of US Club Soccer.
Establish regular cadence for analytics reporting across all digital channels and share insights to inform content performance and future strategies.
Ensure knowledge management and appropriate documentation.
Operations, project and event-based support as needed.
Some travel and evening/weekend work is required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution, or equivalent previous work experience.
3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, branding or journalism.
Proficiency with applicable software programs, such as Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Cloud.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. High emotional intelligence.
Highly refined abilities in time management, prioritization and administration.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently, and produce high-quality output.
Knowledge of soccer is preferred, but not required.
