Executive Producer
to lead our newsroom’s morning newscast. The
Executive Producer
will oversee editorial direction of our five-hour flagship newscast, ensuring our storytelling is fair, accurate, and compelling. If you’re passionate about breaking news, owning every story, know how to craft compelling newscasts, and have an eye for quality enterprise journalism, we want to talk with you! What You’ll Do: Take the lead on managing and mentoring our producing team—think coach and motivator. Own the editorial process for our five-hour morning newscast—story selection, placement, tease writing, and flow. Make sure every show feels urgent, visual, and built for the FOX23 viewer. Work closely with anchors, reporters, photographers, and the content coordinator team to create smart, cohesive coverage across TV, web, and social. Help guide breaking news and severe weather coverage Ensure editorial integrity and accuracy and uphold the highest journalistic standards. Keep an eye on the competition and make data-driven decisions to improve performance. What You’ll Bring: At least 5 years of experience producing newscasts, time in a newsroom leadership role is a plus, but not a must. Proven track record of producing shows that lead and grow in competitive time slots. Strong editorial judgment, excellent writing skills, and a deep understanding of how to showcase content visually. Calm under pressure, clear in communication, and fast on your feet. Familiarity with newsroom systems (we use ENPS) and experience working with digital/social platforms. A passion for news and a drive to win. Nice to Have: Severe weather experience – we are in Oklahoma! Interest in coaching producers to think beyond the rundown.
